Atlantic Coast Trails

(Essaouira - Morocco)

Essaouira, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, is known for its windswept beaches and stunning landscapes. The strong trade winds make it an important fishing port and a favorite spot for kite surfers and windsurfers. Beyond the coast, Essaouira is famous for its argan oil production, a unique feature of the region.

These horse-riding trails take you through Essaouira’s diverse scenery, with options ranging from 3 to 7-night stays. You’ll explore rugged mountains, quiet Berber villages, and the beautiful Atlantic coastline. Ride through argan forests, across rolling sand dunes, and experience the thrill of galloping along wide, sandy beaches. You’ll be riding strong and spirited Berber stallions, guided by a French-Moroccan team eager to share Morocco’s rich culture. On the trail, you will enjoy delicious, authentic Moroccan meals prepared by their chef. You’ll camp each night in a different scenic spot, with the option to share a traditional tent or have your own space.

Please note that much of the riding is at a relaxed pace, with a fair amount of walking depending on the terrain, though you will have some opportunities for canters and thrilling beach gallops.

  • TESTIMONIALS

“It was an amazing adventure! We had 4 full days of riding through rural villages, coastline and beaches. The horses are a lot of fun to ride, so kind and in great condition. Each day we had really delicious meals prepared by the chef, our lunch stops and campsites were set up by a great support crew, and the locations we camped in were incredible. The trek guides Karim and Younes were really helpful and patient with all the riders. The contact with Sophie before and after the trek was great, she answered all my questions and managed my booking changes perfectly.  I also found the blog / description on your site really helpful. The camping was basic but very comfortable, it was helpful to know that before getting started” - Rina Hogan-Estall

“Just got back from the 3-day Morocco trip we booked via World on Horseback and it was incredible! Thank you so much for connecting us up with such an incredible experience! Everything was organised and ran very smoothly from the start to end of the trip!! This was both for me and my partner’s first time riding stallions too, but they were very polite and well-schooled. We can’t wait to check out another one of the trips you advertise soon!!” - Amber A
