TRAILS IN Extremadura

(spain)

The western Spanish region of Extremadura, nestled along the border with Portugal and just a few hours from Madrid, is home to a wide variety of sights, from mountains, lakes, and forests to castles and Roman ruins.

Accompanied by your guide and a reliable PRE horse, you will ride through beautiful landscapes, crossing “dehesas” (Spanish pastures), forests, and castles, following in the footsteps of the Romans as you pass through villages and cities like Trujillo, dating back to 2500 years.

This region is home to Monfragüe National Park (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), renowned for its best-preserved Mediterranean forests and rich birdlife. For a cultural highlight, you'll visit iconic cities like Trujillo and Guadalupe, the latter featuring a UNESCO World Heritage monastery dating back to the 14th century.

You can choose between two routes for these rides, each offering a journey through diverse landscapes and cities. Designed for intermediate to advanced riders, these progressive itineraries provide a rich and immersive experience. Given the region’s hot summers, these rides are available from February to May.
